Ethical fundraising policy

This policy defines clear categories of funders to actively exclude (e.g. fossil fuel companies, organisations linked to harmful activities or the BDS list), funders to seek out (values-aligned individuals, foundations with light reporting requirements, ethical banks), and a middle tier to approach cautiously in times of financial need. It outlines an internal due diligence process — including consensus decision-making and paid community focus groups — for vetting new funders. The policy also commits the organisation to full public transparency about funding sources and sets a two-week target for responding to stakeholder feedback. Notably, it was written for and by Ort Gallery and reflects a strongly activist, community-centred values framework that may not suit all civil-society organisations without adaptation.
