Family leave & reproductive rights
This policy sets out Ort Gallery's entitlements and procedures for all forms of family leave, including maternity, partner, adoption, shared parental, and IVF-related leave. It uses inclusive language (e.g. "birthing parent" and "non-birthing parent") and explicitly addresses how intersecting protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010 may create additional support needs. Notably, it offers enhanced maternity pay (12 weeks at full pay, followed by 27 weeks at SMP rate) for eligible employees, and enhanced entitlement for partner and adoption leave to counteract structural gender inequality in parenting. The policy is scoped to Ort Gallery employees and references April 2024 SMP rates, so figures should be checked against current government guidance.
