Reparative rest leave

This policy from Watershed (shared via RadHR) provides up to three days of paid rest leave per year to staff members who self-identify as experiencing structural inequality — for example due to race, gender expression, or disability. Leave can be taken when working on projects that intersect with a staff member's lived experience, when facing exclusionary behaviour at work, or when wider world events are traumatising because of that lived experience. Notably, staff are not required to give a reason when notifying HR, and same-day notification is accepted. The policy sits alongside Watershed's anti-harassment and bullying mechanisms and is part of a broader proactive approach to racial justice.
