Socially just waging system

This policy sets out Cooperation Town's framework for determining worker pay on social justice grounds rather than seniority or skill. All staff receive the same core rate, which is then adjusted by a series of percentage increments and decrecrements based on inherited wealth and gifts (with offsets for donations back to the organisation), number of children or other dependants, and private housing costs. It also specifies a 4% employer pension contribution and an emergency waging mechanism — triggered when budgets fall critically low — that prioritises covering fixed housing costs before splitting the remaining budget equally. The policy is reviewed after six months and annually thereafter, with any worker able to table amendments in writing for collective decision-making.
