Peer reflection & supervision

This policy from Tripod (shared via RadHR) sets out a system for peer reflection and supervision that replaces capacity-intensive annual and probationary reviews. It comprises an initial review, 6-monthly peer reflections, and regular peer supervision sessions, covering practical and pastoral support, accountability, and learning and skill development — functions typically associated with line management. The policy was developed in direct response to a painful conflict caused by ableist culture, overwork, and informal hierarchy, and is explicitly grounded in values of disability justice and non-hierarchy. A accompanying folder of documents includes guides for giving and receiving feedback, session plans, and feedback forms for both staff and non-staff.
