How we make decisions

This policy describes how Autonomic, a worker co-operative, categorises decisions into three tiers: Small (individual autonomous action), Medium (consensus pending objections, with a default one-week deadline), and Large (Maximum Consensus™, requiring input and a vote from every member). It details the full process for Medium and Large decisions, including drafting proposals in HedgeDoc, linking them on a wiki, announcing via an internal chat channel, and recording outcomes. A standard proposal template and emoji-based voting shorthand are included, making the framework practical to adopt. The policy is explicitly shared for use by others in horizontal and co-operative organisations, though it reflects Autonomic's specific tooling (HedgeDoc, wiki, chat channels) and may need adapting for other setups.
