Sick leave agreement

This policy sets out how a freelance collective manages sick leave for both short-term contractors and full collective members, using a pooled sick-day model where one day of sick leave is accrued for every ten days worked by anyone in the collective. It covers physical illness, mental health, and caring for others, with no justification required for absences — operated on a basis of trust. The policy also provides structured guidance for long-term illness (over one month), including a set of questions for the internal support team, the person's team, and the individual to explore together. A notable scope limit is that sick days are included within agreed work days and salary, do not roll over year to year, and the policy explicitly encourages users to investigate local healthcare systems and health insurance for longer-term needs.
