Performance management process

This RadHR policy sets out a three-stage performance management process for cooperatives and small organisations: an informal stage involving written concerns, facilitated conversation, and a three-month support plan; a formal stage led by an annually elected five-person panel with union rep involvement, structured work plans, and fortnightly check-ins; and a dismissal stage requiring a 4-out-of-5 panel majority vote, with rights of appeal and a staff veto mechanism (51% signature). Throughout all stages, the policy emphasises disability accommodations, redeployment options, and adjustments, and includes detailed guidance on electing and recusing panel members. It is designed to be free to implement and suitable for organisations in their first year of formalising people processes.
