Equitable recruitment policy

This policy sets out a step-by-step framework for embedding equity into every stage of recruitment, from role design and job-pack creation through to shortlisting, interviewing, and post-decision feedback. It offers practical prompts covering flexible and accessible role design, plain-language job packs, diverse advertising channels (including community-specific outlets such as mosque notice boards), guaranteed interviews for disabled applicants, reimbursement of interview expenses, and bias-checking during decision-making. The policy explicitly acknowledges the historical influence of white supremacist thinking in recruitment and commits the organisation to ongoing accountability, radical listening, and continuous improvement. Note that named signatories and review dates are placeholders, so the policy should be dated and reviewed before adoption.
