Equitable wage policy
This policy, developed by Tripod and inspired by RadHR and similar organisations, establishes a single base rate salary for all collective members regardless of role or experience (£27,000 for 4 days in 2025, rising to £29,000 from September 2025), with additive percentage uplifts of up to 25% applied according to circumstances including dependants, no recourse to public funds, systemic oppression, disability, and housing insecurity. It outlines a transparent, trust-based process for calculating uplifts collaboratively during induction, with annual pay reviews and guidance on declining uplifts where significant wealth or inheritance applies. Notably, the policy explicitly encourages open conversation about class and lived experience, and flags that speaking frankly about these issues is a skill that the team culture should actively support. The appendix signals future development areas including an emergency pay system and a personal emergency fund, but these sections are not yet fully defined.
