Induction policy for new staff
This policy from CAAT (via RadHR) outlines a six-month induction framework designed to support new employees and surface any early difficulties. It specifies four staged review meetings — at day one, one–two months, three months, and six months — detailing who leads each meeting, what topics to cover (workload, training needs, job description review, targets, and collaborative working), and how notes and actions should be recorded. The policy also clarifies that employment terms and conditions, including notice periods, pay reviews, disciplinary procedures, and annual leave accrual, are identical during and after the induction period, and that the induction can be extended if the employee has had unavoidable absence. It is free to implement and available as a ready-to-use template for small organisations.
