Shared parental leave

This policy sets out CAAT's approach to Shared Parental Leave (ShPL), explaining how eligible parents can share up to 52 weeks of leave (less any maternity or adoption leave already taken) in up to three separate blocks, with eight weeks' written notice required for each. It details CAAT's Occupational Shared Parental Pay (OShPP) structure: 6 weeks at full pay, 22 weeks at half pay plus Statutory Shared Parental Pay (SShPP), 9 weeks at SShPP only, and 13 weeks unpaid, conditional on the employee returning to CAAT for at least six months. The policy also covers repayment obligations if the employee does not return or leaves within six months of returning, redundancy during ShPL, annual leave accrual, up to 10 Keeping in Touch days per employee, and the principle that ShPL does not break continuity of employment.
