Co-op member / volunteer agreements

This policy provides two complementary, signable agreements — one for co-op members and one for volunteers — used by the youth work co-operative Voice of Youth. It clearly compares the two roles side by side (commitment levels, pay, notice periods, and governance rights) and sets out mutual obligations: what each person commits to, and what the organisation commits to in return. Particularly useful features include reciprocal organisational commitments (supervision, references, travel expenses, challenge on equality grounds) and a non-punitive approach to breaches, whereby issues are discussed collectively before any decision to ask someone to leave. The template is specific to Voice of Youth but is readily adaptable by other volunteer-led or co-operative organisations.
