Paid work for co-operative members

This policy from Voice of Youth (VOY), a small workers co-operative, explains how co-op members — whether currently paid or unpaid — can access paid work. It sets out the self-employment registration requirement, a flat sessional rate of £13.50 per hour, and the invoicing process. It also describes how the co-op collectively decides who gets paid when funds are limited, taking into account factors such as financial need, regularity of contribution, experience, and team diversity. Notable caveats include that all paid work must be agreed at co-op meetings in advance, and members are responsible for their own tax and National Insurance.
