Non-punitive disciplinary procedure

This RadHR policy template, written for People Support Co-op, sets out a step-by-step disciplinary procedure that centres restorative and non-punitive principles while remaining compliant with the Acas Code of Practice. It begins with informal resolution through co-op meetings and sociocratic performance reviews before escalating to a first facilitated conversation and six-month improvement plan, then a three-month urgent action plan, and finally dismissal where necessary. The policy covers gross misconduct, suspension on full pay, appeals (heard by an independent co-op sector member), and the right to be accompanied by a trade union representative, colleague, friend, or family member. It is specifically scoped for worker co-operatives with employer responsibilities and up to one year's organisational experience.
