Ask the library
Describe your problem in your own words — the assistant helps you pin it down, then routes you to resources and the people curating them. It finds; it doesn’t advise.
That sounds hard — let’s find what will actually help. One question first: is anyone at immediate risk right now?
Then what you want is a fair, written process. From the library, in the order I’d read them:
- What to do if you have immediate concerns
Immediate steps if someone may be at risk — start here today.
- Conflict, grievance and accountability policy & process
A complete complaints process for a volunteer-run group to adapt.
- How to create non-punitive grievance procedures
For designing a fair process that doesn’t drive people out.
I can’t advise on the specific case — but these are where volunteer-run groups usually start. If your situation doesn’t fit, tell the librarians about the gap — that’s how the library grows.
Prototype — this conversation is scripted to show the intended behaviour (probe once, present with reasons, hand off rather than advise). The live assistant is the next slice. Back to search
